Pawfect Rescue has over 2 decades of experience in raising, training & rehoming German Shorthaired Pointers. Putting Pawfect Rescue at an expert level to best guide families in adding a new GSP puppy/dog to their family in a fun & educational way. Let us help you make sure you are not only choosing the right breed/companion for you, but also that you’re getting it from the right breeder. Our dogs are very cheap and affordable so everyone can get one!

Our primary goal with each adoption program is to improve the pup in terms of health, character, structure and over all breed perfection according to breed standards before the GSPs are rehomed or adopted by the new owners.

We strive for HEALTH first, structure, temperament, and overall breed perfection. We are dedicated to the health and happiness of the GSP. Our pointers come first and that commitment is reflected in our service to you. We constantly strive to exceed your expectations.

We have a lot of newborn puppies of different colors available for reservation, we equally have older puppies and and older well trained hunting dogs as well. For additional information and pictures please contact us by e-mail.
Thank you, again! And welcome to our website!

The dogs that we choose for our breeding program are chosen for their heath, temperament and conformity to the standards of the breed. The qualifications of our breeding program are VERY stringent. All of our males and females undergo a full health-screening, compromising full DNA testing, HCM & PKD echo screening and x-rays. Before breeding, we ensure that our puppies are absolutely perfect!

We breed for the sole purpose of improving the breed with temperamentally sound puppies that are a joy to live with. We take the health of our GSPs and Puppies extremely seriously. We health test regularly and keep up on the latest health testing info affecting our breed. Our GSPs and GSP puppies are home raised and enjoy plenty of love from their extended human family.

Puppies are available year round. There is sometimes a waiting list since GSPs  are more in demand.
We look for the right fit for our GSP puppies and family. We require an application about yourself and your family and photo’s of your home. All of our GSP puppies live with us in our home. Please take a look around our website to learn more about us & about our GSPs. We gladly welcome any questions you may have, so feel free to contact us by going through our website and using our “Contact Us” page. Please leave your name, city, state and number.

When it comes to Older adoptions/Fostering/rehoming, What does Pawfect Rescue do?

Pawfect Rescue takes in adoptable dogs from area shelters and fosters them in volunteer foster homes throughout the United States. Please note that while our world headquarters are in Menlo Park, California, we do not have a physical facility. By fostering dogs in our homes we save dogs’ lives and provide the public with healthy spayed or neutered dogs. The foster home provides a transition period between life in the animal shelter and the new, permanent home. The dogs are given the opportunity to learn any needed social skills and to receive the much-needed love, shelter, and medical care they deserve.

When a dog is rescued from the animal shelter/or from a life situation, he or she receives a health exam by a veterinarian, age-appropriate vaccinations, and a heartworm test and preventative. All dogs of 6 months of age or older are spayed or neutered. Dogs under 6 months of age are adopted under the agreement that they will be spayed or neutered at the appropriate time.

We are committed to a positive reinforcement training philosophy. We provide training sessions and behavior assessments for foster dogs as needed. We also emphasize a commitment to force-free training with our foster homes and adopters and help educate the public.

Most of our rescued GSPs have come from the United States and sometimes Canada & Mexico. We also prioritize animals who are in danger of being euthanized. In order to give these dogs a chance, we limit the number of dogs we take from private homes who are being surrendered because their owners no longer have time for them, are moving, and so on. We will accept animals from the public if space is available in an appropriate foster home. If you are looking for another home for your dog or are thinking of giving up your GSP, please refer to the information in our Rehoming section.

How does Pawfect Rescue find the best homes for the dogs?

Pawfect Rescue finds homes for dogs through postings on this website, postings on pet adoption sites such as Petfinder.com, social media outreach, and adoption events. We keep each dog for a minimum of two weeks in order to assess personality, temperament, and training needs. By doing this we are able to ensure that we place each dog in the most suitable home. Individuals interested in adopting a GSP fill out an adoption questionnaire (application) and are interviewed in order to ensure that the needs of both the individual and the dog are met.

Our Values:

Love – seeking and seeing the best in our community and our team
Compassion – tackling our work with kindness
Expertise – using current knowledge and practices to achieve great outcomes
Commitment – keeping our promises to GSPs in need
